We’ve had another epic week at TTP HQ with plenty of interest from consumers and trade customers. One thing that’s taken us by surprise is the interest we’ve received from the Vegan and Vegetarian community. We can’t thank them enough for their support, not to mention the promotion they have done on our behalf on social media and blogs. Thanks to a few kind introductions we’ve just been included in next month’s lifestyle box from the lovely folks at The Vegan Kind going out to over 1,300 subscribers. That’s a lot of new mouths to feed! We’ve also had a great response after we were included as one of the products in April’s Vegan Tuck Box. It’s been a great way to get our lovely peas into the hands of very passionate snackers!
On top of all this we’ll also be included in May’s Deluxe Food Box from the chaps at Flavourly. Head on over to their website and see what other lovely snacks you can get delivered right to your door every month.
It’s really exciting to be a part of a somewhat stale industry (excuse the pun) which has recently gone through a reinvigoration thanks to a host of young start up brands trying to make their mark in an industry usually dominated by the big brands. We recently attended a couple of events ran by the Food Start Up School and Enterprise Nation which consisted of various speakers such as supermarket buyers and FMCG consultants which was all very relevant but most importantly guest speakers (namely founders) from successful food start ups such as Vivid Drinks, Smith & Sinclair and Spoon Cereals.

There is such a buzz at the moment about starting your own food or beverage business and it’s great to see people from all walks of life giving it a go and successfully getting their brands into some of the countries major departments stores like Tesco and Sainsburys and the likes of Wholefoods and Planet Organic. A surprising and somewhat reassuring fact is that most of the entrepreneurs have zero experience in FMCG before they start their brands. If you have an idea for a product, give it a go. It may well turn out to be the most rewarding thing you ever do. There is an enormous support network in the UK, especially in London, for entrepreneurs who wish to start their own business. I can honestly say you’re not on your own, any fear you have, others have it too and the more people you meet the more you realize that it’s normal to have these thoughts.
That’s it from me. Until next time….
